It is a well known internet marketing cliché – the money is in the list. It gets debated a lot in forums all over the internet, but when it comes right down to it the people making money really do have a list.
What do we mean by list? A list is an email list – people have given you their email address and allowed you to send them emailed newsletters, updates and the like. This is usually done via a autoresponder system such as Aweber or Getresponse.
So, if you purchase a list for email use, you’ll be banned most definitely and charged with spamming so I highly suggest you don’t do it. The last thing you want is to receive spam complaints. This would not only kill your business, but doing so would waste your time and money. Also realize that purchasing a list is not cheap. Never put your eggs all in one basket! Diversify your marketing. Build your list through article marketing, adwords campaigns and social networking. These are some great suggestions for capturing names and email addresses of people interested in your product offerings.
Builds Open Channels of Communication
Being able to freely contact your list allows you to keep them inform on matters that would interest them. This also gives you the chase to share other ‘random’ types of content that could be helpful to them further aiding your relationship building efforts.
If indeed you did do this what would happen is your host could shut you down immediately. Your domain, the email that you’re sending emails from would be kaput! Basically your entire business would be jeopardized simply because you wanted a quick fix.
Build your list by following the “moral” rules of the online world. You want to build loyalty between you and your visitors and the only way to do this is to respect your list and offer them useful information. Don’t ever risk your business for a quick buck. It’s not worth it. It’s just going to cause more headaches then its worth. So, follow the anti spam act (CAN SPAM Act) rules and build your business the right way.
